Sourcing & Livestock Handling

We begin with the highest standards at the source. Our animals are carefully selected from trusted ranches across Kenya: pasture-fed, young, and well-finished. Each animal undergoes strict ante-mortem inspection and comes only from disease-free areas. We work closely with our suppliers to ensure they meet Halal requirements and our own rigorous specifications. Every supplier is regularly audited for compliance, guaranteeing that only the best livestock and raw materials make it to our facility.

Our philosophy is that the highest standards of hygiene and safety are rooted in the principles of Halal. Our entire process is certified and supervised by authorities, including SUPKEM and the Kenya Bureau of Halal Certification (KBHC). This ensures our methods are not only ethically and traditionally sound but that they also deliver the exceptional purity our customers value.

Processing & Packaging

Inside our state-of-the-art facility, we process a wide range of premium products, including fresh sausages, fresh beef, & fresh lamb, among others. Time, temperature, and hygiene form the core of our operations, with every step guided by documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Our team of 140 highly trained employees is committed to maintaining the strictest levels of cleanliness and safety, wearing mandatory protective gear at all times.
Every product is packed on-site using vacuum sealing or food-grade wrappers to lock in freshness and flavor. Additionally, a computerized dating system ensures accurate manufacture and sell-by dates, so you always receive meat in its best condition.

Storage & Delivery

Temperature control is non-negotiable. All chilled products are stored between 0°C and 4°C, while frozen products are maintained at -18°C for optimal preservation. Our distribution network is designed for efficiency, with scheduled deliveries across Kenya to retail stores, hotels, institutions, and quick-service outlets. For international customers, we export by both air and sea, ensuring our quality travels well beyond borders.

At Choice Meats, food safety isn’t just a policy; it’s a promise. Our operations are anchored in a robust Food Safety Management System (ISO 22000:2005), with continuous checks at Critical Control Points to eliminate hazards. Raw materials undergo strict inspection before production, while ongoing in-process checks guarantee compliance with set standards throughout.
